Wounded girl’s family wants USC forum

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) âone space€one space” The family of a University of South Carolina student shot and wounded earlier this week is planning a forum on campus for students. The family of freshman Martha Childress met with university officials Thursday afternoon talk about where and when to hold the event. Charlotte, N.C., developer Steve McNair is working with the family and says both Childress and her mother want something good to come from the shooting, which left the student paralyzed. Childress was struck by a random bullet while she was waiting by the Five Points fountain for a taxi to take her back to her dorm early Sunday. McNair says plans for the forum will be completed after the family hears from other students.
