Columbia Creates Search Committee for New Chief

Columbia, S.C. (WOLO)– Wednesday, City Manager Teresa Wilson introduced a five member-search committee, tasked with finding the city’s next chief of Police.
Wilson says committee members bring different backgrounds in law enforcement and public safety to the table.
Along with experience, Wilson says other qualities the group will look for in the next chief of police such as technical experience, background, and good interpersonal skills.
The search for a new chief officially started November 12th.
The job will be posted until December 11th.
So far, we’re told more than a dozen people have applied from across the country and locally.
