Columbia Police Investigating Two Deadly Shootings

Columbia, S.C. (WOLO)–Police say two people were shot and killed within four hours of each other in Columbia.
Investigators with the Columbia Police Dept. say the first shooting occurred shortly before 9:00 p.m. on Friday night
on Martha Street.
Interim Chief Ruben Santiago says three males were shot at the location; one died as a result of his injuries.
According to police, the second deadly shooting occurred on Bailey Street shortly before
1:00 a.m. on Saturday.
Investigators say responding officers found the male victim unresponsive on the ground, he was
transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
Police say preliminary information suggests that the victim may have been involved in an argument
moments before the shooting.
CPD continues to determine the motives for both shootings and the circumstances
At this time, CPD Officers say they do not have information to suggest that both cases are
connected, however the investigations continue.
