Prisoner caught after morning escape

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — The Richland County Sheriff’s Department caught an escaped prisoner Wednesday.

Deputy Curtis Wilson with the department says Sidney Mitchell is back in custody after he apparently got away while at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center. The search began around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.  Mitchell was apparently facing charges of DUI and resisting arrest.
