(WOLO) COLUMBIA,S.C., —

Carol Wallace has been running for 14 years taking part in races like the upcoming Governor’s Cup and most recently the Boston Marathon, a race was unable to complete. Just a half a mile away from the finish line, she was forced to stop running as word spread of two bombs exploding just ahead of.

Wallace says the Boston Athletic Association recently invited thousands of runners back. Many who like Carol were unable to race to the finish line. Wallace says she didn’t hesitate to accept the offer and she is not alone. She says 85 to 90 percent of the people who have been invited back, have accepted the invitation and plan to return.

Wallace has been training for month, and this weekend plans to push herself to the limit and test her endurance as she and a group of runner’s take part in the Governor’s Cup throughout the streets of Columbia.
