1 Dead, 1 Injured in Richland County Accident

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) – One man is dead and another is seriously injured following an accident in Richland County.

It happened Tuesday afternoon along Longtown Road.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol says the driver of a 2011 Nissan pulled out from a private driveway and attempted to make a left-hand turn. He was hit on the left side of the car by a 2007 Cadillac SUV that was traveling on Longtown Road.

Both drivers were taken to the hospital. Troopers say the man in the 2011 Nissan died later from his injuries. Meanwhile, the driver of the 2007 Cadillac SUV sustained serious injuries, but those are not believed to be life threatening.

The crash remains under investigation.
