Shaw Air Force Base captain missing
SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. (AP) — U.S. Air Force officials are seeking the public’s help in finding a captain who did not report to work Monday.
Officials said in a news release that Capt. Robby Williams was last seen Dec. 18. He has been stationed at the Air Force base near Sumter since November 2012 and lives in the Columbia area.
Maj. David Faggard said Saturday that officers went to Williams’ home Monday but found no sign of him. Williams’ family told Faggard they hadn’t heard from him either.
The Sumter Item (http://bit.ly/JzMzT0 ) reports that Williams’ job at U.S. Air Forces Central Command involves managing communications between Shaw and fighters deployed in the Middle East.
