2 Charged in Cross Hill Shooting Deaths

CROSS HILL, S.C. (AP) _ Two arrests have been made in the shooting deaths of an uncle and niece whose bodies were found in her Cross Hill home. Laurens County sheriff’s deputies said Wednesday 26-year-old Deshanndon Markelle Franks and 22-year-old Tevin Oneil Hill have each been charged with two counts of murder. Friends found the bodies of 47-year-old Sammie Dyron Leake and 24-year-old Nikesha Travarea Jones on Friday afternoon. Authorities have said they think Leake had moved in with his niece recently. Sheriff Ricky Chastain has said he thinks the victims knew the person or people who shot them.
