SOUTH CAROLINA

In the Palmetto State — the South Carolina Election Commission said 1,043,810 people cast their ballots early. Friday was the busiest day, with 110,172 people casting their ballots.

Comparing those numbers to the 2022 midterms early voting totals, where 561,563 South Carolinians cast their ballots early. That means almost double the amount of South Carolinians voted early in this year’s midterms.

However, it’s important to note — more people voting early doesn’t necessarily mean overall voter turnout will be higher. We won’t know that until after Election Day.

Horry County had 85,931 early votes, and Florence County had 26,204 early votes.

Georgetown County had 17,921 early votes, followed by Darlington County with 11,699.

Marion, Marlboro and Dillon counties each had fewer than 5,300 early votes.
