Dreher Parent Dismissed as Assistant Swimming Coach

Columbia, S.C. (WOLO)– The parent arrested for allegedly assaulting an officer Thursday has lost his spot as an assistant swimming coach. A spokesperson for Richland District 1 says David Bass has been terminated from his duties as an assistant for the swim teams at Dreher High School. Bass was arrested thursday when police say he assaulted the officer after EMS responded to the school for a medical situation. Bass is charged with third degree assault and battery.
