Man gets 50 years in Kershaw shooting death

CAMDEN, S.C. (AP) — A man has been sentenced to 50 years in prison for the home invasion shooting death of another man in Kershaw County.
Twenty-five-year-old Frank Terrance Singleton III pleaded guilty Wednesday to charges of murder, armed robbery, burglary and kidnapping.
Thirty-nine-year-old Michael Hayes was shot to death in 2011 at a home in Camden.
Investigators said Hayes was shot when he failed to get his home safe open quickly enough. Hayes’ girlfriend and her 5-day-old baby were abducted but were released the next day.
