COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — “I saw them at one of the worst places they could be seen at,” says Todd Lever, Owner of Lever Farms. After almost ten hours, the capture of four suspects on the run from Tennessee came down to a local farmer’s help. “I was sitting on the four wheeler doing some stuff on my phone and I heard something in the woods. I looked up and I saw a red shirt and a white shirt and I said that’s them,” says Lever Throughout the day, one hundred officers from seven departments were on the ground and in the sky along with bloodhounds. “We got a 911 call from Mr. Lever, that owns a farm in the area, said that he saw the four suspects cross the back of his farm,” says Sheriff Lee Foster, Newberry County “I jumped up, jumped off the four wheeler and this wonderful iPhone and I went to dial 911 and I dialed 991 and I was like that’s wrong and I stopped,” says Lever He did eventually get 911. “I told her I said, the helicopter just came over turn him around. She spun him around and he came right back,” says Lever He says it didn’t take long and the teens were in handcuffs. “Within the five minutes of the time that I saw them they had them on the ground,” says Lever “Where they were at is one of the thickest places on our property. I feel sure they are cut to pieces with briers,” says Lever With the arrest made, Sheriff Foster thanked Lever. “Mr. Lever, who runs a community farm here, is a good citizen and he proved it today,” says Sheriff Foster “It makes me feel good, because I was wondering how people was going to sleep tonight thinking they are still around. Even with them teenagers, to me that makes it worse because they may make a even worse decision. It makes me feel good that it came down like it did and no one was hurt,” says Lever
