Consumer Minute: Food Price Spike

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)–Gas prices are not the only thing going up these days. Prices at the grocery store for certain items are up…way up. Here’s Crysty Vaughan with her Consumer Minute. (Video: CNN) From Milk to eggs to bacon and beef, yoyur choices at the grocery could mean the difference in nearly half your bill. Prices are up..way up, especially breakfast items. According to the American Farm Bureau, bacon prices are up 12 percent to $4.80 per pound. Whole Milk up to nearly $4.00 a gallon. And it’s not just the breakfast items…. beef prices are more than they have been in a decade. The cost of ground beef spiked to $3.55 a pound.
