‘Midlands Gives Day’ Raises over $700,000 for charities

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO) — The Central Carolina Community Foundation’s first ever Midlands Gives Day resulted in huge in-kind gifts for local charities, totaling more than $700,000. The 24-hour online giving challenge brought in $704,932.23 for 150 nonprofit organizations in the Midlands. With a minimum of $20, donors could choose any number of organizations to which to contribute funds. Combined, 5,186 gifts were received during the community’s first regional 24-hour online giving challenge. The project, which aimed at ‘magnifying the Midlands,’ presented by Central Carolina Community Foundation, raised money for the nonprofit organizations that serve nine counties across the Midlands. All funds raised go directly to the nonprofits here in our community. ABC Columbia News was a proud sponsor. Thanks to everyone who donated. Organizers say you may continue to give throughout the year at www.yourfoundation.org.
