COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — A simple card in the mailbox can mean all the difference to our troops. “I said thank you for serving,” says Mikhai Hay, 8 years old. That’s what Mikhai wrote to his dad, who serves “He’s actually like the nurse for the people that get hurt. So he has to actually run out when everybody is firing guns and he actually has to go and save the person,”says Mikhai. He’s proud of his dad. “He’s one of the most important people in the world,”says Mikhai Also proud, Heather Cook of her husband who just returned from a year in Korea. “It was really hard, it was our first year of marriage. He left 3 weeks after we married so I thank God for social media and I thank god for electronic devices,” says Cook. She too filled out a card Friday. “Anyone’s hands that it gets in. Just to let them know that we support them, we thank God for them and their families,” says Cook If you would like to send a card to a service member, visit the Dutch Square Mall Saturday 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. or Sunday 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
