Deputies Search for Armed Robbery Suspects

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Richland County deputies are searching for three suspects accused of robbing and shooting a man early Wednesday morning. Deputies tell ABC Columbia News around 3:25 a.m., a black male and a female acquaintance were approached by four black males while walking at Hunters Way Apartments on Percival Road. Deputies say the four suspects tried to rob the 18 year old victim and his female acquaintance when the male victim was shot in the lower body. One suspect was captured while three others fled the scene in a white Pontiac Grand Prix. The South Carolina Highway Patrol later spotted the vehicle on I-77 southbound. A chase ensued to Patterson Road and Carolina Road off Leesburg Road. Deputies are continuing to try and identify the other three suspects, the identity of the suspect arrested has not been released.
