COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– Timothy Jones Junior, the midlands man accused of killing his five children, waived his right to appear in court Friday morning. He is expected to appear in court, November 13th. A lawyer for Jones says he has been treated for mental issues in past. Jones children, ages 1-8, were reported missing last Wednesday by their mother. Deputies say the mother is divorced from their father, Timothy Jones, who is their legal guardian. The children and their Jones were entered in the National Crime Information Center. On September 6th, Jones was arrested at a public safety checkpoint and that is also where deputies determined he and his children were missing. The children were not with their father, according to authorities. Our sister station in Montgomery, Alabama WNCF confirms investigators with the Butler Co. Sheriff’s Dept. have found the bodies of the missing children. Lexington Co. Sheriff Lewis McCarty says the children’s remains have been returned to South Carolina.
