SCGOP Reacts to Haley, Graham, Scott wins

Columbia, S.C.(WOLO)–Early returns signaled victories for three republican incumbents in South Carolina. For the second time, Governor Nikki Haley defeated State Sen. Vincent Sheheen to retain her position. Lindsey Graham topped Democrat Brad Hutto and Independent Thomas Ravenel to secure a third term in the senate. Senator Tim Scott won his first election after being appointed mid-term to replace former Senator Jim Demint. South Carolina GOP Chairman Matt Moore says, ““Voters today overwhelmingly recognized the incredible progress we’ve made with Nikki Haley as Governor. Thanks to Governor Haley, South Carolina is now a 21st century leader in jobs and innovation. What a difference she‘s making across our state. We‘re proud to call her Governor for four more years. “South Carolinians overwhelmingly voted to send our conservative, problem-solving Senator Lindsey Graham back to the U.S. Senate. America‘s future is stronger and safer with Senator Graham in the U.S. Senate. He‘ll play an important role in getting our country back on track. “Tonight is a historic night in South Carolina. Tim Scott embodies all that is great about our state and I know he‘ll continue to make us proud in the U.S. Senate. South Carolinians are truly excited about the leadership of Senator Scott. It showed in today’s election results.”
