Deadly Shooting

(WOLO) CHARLESTON, S.C., — Charleston police are investigating the shooting death of a local man. The Post and Courier of Charleston reported Sunday (http://bit.ly/1G5DCt3 ) that the Charleston County Coroner’s Office had identified Ira Lamar Grant as the victim of a Saturday morning shooting in the city’s East Side community. The 23-year-old Charleston man was found by a pair of construction workers lying wounded on the sidewalk. Grant later died from a gunshot wound at Medical University Hospital. Charleston Police spokesman Charles Francis said investigators are still working to determine a motive and suspect in the slaying. It was the city’s seventh homicide in 2014.
