Congress Hashes out Spending Plan
(WOLO) WASHINGTON, D.C., — Congress is working overtime to avoid another possible Government shut down. Legislators worked throughout the night Friday but could not come to an agreement on a spending package. Instead of resuming the debate Monday as initially planned – lawmakers returned Saturday in hopes of finding some middle ground. Late Saturday evening President Obama signed a “stop the gap” bill. The move will keep the government funded through wednesday. without this measure government funding would have come to an end tonight. The senate is set to vote on a one point one trillion dollar spending package Monday.
