State Farmers Encourage Buying Local For New Year’s Day

Columbia, S.C. (WOLO)– For lots of folks their New Year’s Day tradition includes a meal with collard greens and black eyed peas. If that’s on your menu why not make it local. Tuesday afternoon the South Carolina Farm Bureau displayed some of the locally grown products at City Roots on Airport Blvd. Farmers we spoke with say local products help grow South Carolina’s economy. South Carolina is the nation’s number two producer of collard greens.
