79-Year-Old Man Found dead in Oconee County House Fire

TOWNVILLE, S.C. (AP) _ Authorities are investigating the death of a 79-year-old man whose body was found in the bedroom of his burning home in Townville. Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis said in a news release an autopsy will be done on Woodrow Nalley on Wednesday to determine how he died. The fire was discovered by a deputy on patrol around 11 a.m. Tuesday. Authorities say the officer tried to get in the home after being told someone was likely inside, but the fire was too intense. Firefighters found Nalley’s body after putting out the blaze. Deputies say Nalley lived alone at the home. The State Law Enforcement Division is helping investigators try to determine the cause of the fire.
