Voters in Lexington County to elect New Sheriff Tuesday

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– Voters in Lexington County will head to the polls Tuesday to elect a new sheriff to replace ousted Sheriff James Metts. Candidates vying for the top cop spot are Richland County Deputy Justin Britt, Assistant Town of Lexington Police Chief Jay Koon, West Columbia Police Chief Dennis Tyndall and Criminal Justice instructor Ed Felix, Polls open 7am-7pm Tuesday. A runoff is scheduled for March 17th if no one gets more than fifty percent of the vote.
