4 Citadel Cadets Disciplined for Hazing this Academic Year

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) _ The Citadel commandant says four cadets have been disciplined for hazing at the South Carolina military college since the school year started last August. Navy Capt. Geno Paluso updated reporters Wednesday after officials announced last month they had received 85 complaints of possible hazing. The complaints came after the school surveyed the freshman class. So far, Paluso says, 39 of the complaints have been investigated and only four were determined to be hazing. The others were found to be lesser violations of cadet rules. Two allegations have been dropped and the college is still investigating the rest. Paluso said that seven cadets also resigned from the college before the school could finish investigations. He said it was not determined if those cadets committed hazing or lesser rule violations.
