Striking out Cancer

(WOLO) COLUMBIA,S.C., — Dozens gathered at USC to hold a fundraiser to help one of their own strike out Cancer. David Simone was diagnosed with Lymphoma and was unable to return to school back in 2013. The interruption didn’t stop his fellow classmates and members of his fraternity, Delta Chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon from starting a fundraiser to help his family with medical costs. Saturday, the fraternity hosted a baseball game to kick off a weekend full of events to raise money for Simone’s mounting medical bills. Sunday, dozens will gather for the Bluff road clean up followed by a bond-fire to round out the events. Simone attended the event coming in from Virginia to be with his USC family during the fundraising activities and tells ABC Columbia News. ” It’s huge that I’ve had over a hundred brothers step up and show out for me.”
