Crowds Chant “Take it Down” at Rally at State House

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)–Several hundred are gathered at Rally to Remove flag on State House grounds, chanting “Take it down” SC Rep. Wendell Gilliard taking to the podium saying ” I stand here today to tell you this man (holds sign of MLK) told you to love one another” Another Senator, Marlon Kimpson, says it will take 2/3’s of both bodies to get the resolution amended so they can take issue up. Kimpson continuing speech by asking crowd to not lose momentum, contact local lawmakers, and petition government to remove flag. One rally Speaker repeats Governor Haley from yesterday, “that flag has no place in our future”
