Governor Haley issues Budget Vetoes

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– Governor Nikki Haley has vetoed 87 budget items in the South Carolina budget. Gov. Haley says debates in the legislature while sometimes heated, were productive for the taxpayers this year. Gov. Haley says some special projects were vetoed to be responsible with state dollars. According to the Governor, $350 million in new money went to roads. Gov. Haley thanks legislatures. Did not have to raise taxes to do it says Haley. The 87 line items vetoed total millions of dollars worth in the State Legislature’s budget. Lawmakers will return next week to take up the vetoes.
