COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO) — GOP Candidate Scott Walker hit the campaign trail Wednesday in South Carolina. Walker met with voters at Hudson’s Smokehouse in Lexington County. For the first time since announcing his run for the Oval Office, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker made a campaign stop in the Midlands at Hudson’s Smokehouse. “We can make this country great again, all we need is new fresh leadership,” said Gov. Walker. The Governor outlined his campaign agenda centering his message on the key issues he plans to tackle if elected as the next Commander in Chief. Some of those issues include better education access and taking the power out of Washington so people can live a life he refers to as ‘The American Dream.’ “We need to help people get the education, the skills and the qualifications that they need to live their piece of the american dream,” explained Gov. Walker. “When we do we can help people go out and find careers that would pay far more than the minimum wage.” The GOP Presidential hopeful also took a strong stance on the Iran nuclear deal. He argued Iran is not a country the United States needs to be doing business with and he said if he is elected he will reinstate the sanctions. “They are the chief state sponsor of terrorism within the region,” said Gov. Walker. Dozens of people attended the speech. Many said they support the Governor’s call for change and better national security. “I think Governor Walker is someone who will stand behind our military, give them what they need and get things done properly,” said attendee Keith Anderson. The Governor also made stops in North Charleston and Mauldin on Wednesday. Officials said he will keep returning to South Carolina throughout his campaign.
