Police search for gunman in fatal shooting in Sumter

SUMTER, S.C. (WOLO) – Police are looking for information after a man was shot and killed after midnight Sunday in Sumter. Officers with the Sumter Police Department responded to a shots-fired call, when they found Rafael Durant, pictured above, lying with a gunshot wound to the upper body in front of a house on Maxwell Street. Durant, 32, was taken to Tuomey Regional Medical Center before being rushed to Palmetto Health Richland hospital in Columbia where he later died. Police believe this is an isolated incident.
