Haley says SC unemployment rate results speak for themselves

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – Governor Nikki Haley issued a statement about South Carolina‘s unemployment rate Friday. The state’s unemployment rate dropped to 6.4 percent in July from 6.6 percent in June. According to the South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce, there are over 59,000 more people working today than in July 2014. “When we invest in our students and workforce, strengthen our infrastructure and make government more efficient and accountable to the people and businesses it serves – as Team South Carolina has done over the last five years – the results speak for themselves: businesses flourish, the economy grows and unemployment drops. The fact that our unemployment rate is down for the second consecutive month is another reason to celebrate across South Carolina, and we have to keep the momentum going,” Haley said.
