Second suspect caught in Orangeburg murder

ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) — A second suspect wanted in connection with a fatal shooting has been apprehended according to the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office. Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said 24-year-old Jeremy Houser was taken into custody in Washington D.C. on an OCSO warrant for murder. Around midnight on August 26 officials say Houser and his brother Darrin Houser, 28, entered a home on Gretta Lane and fatally shot 56-year-old Anthony Patterson. Darrin Houser was taken into custody in Washington D.C. on August 28. He is being held without bond in Orangeburg. The brothers were charged after a witnesses said Darrin Houser tricked them into allowing him in their Gretta Lane residence officials say. The witnesses said that once the men were inside, gunfire rang out with at least one shot striking Patterson. Patterson was declared dead at the scene.
