Columbia, S.C. (WOLO)–Governor Nikki Haley is prepping the state for a possible historic event. She and officials with the South Carolina Emergency Management Division will monitor the rain system all weekend. The governor says to expect power outages and road closures. Haley says the state has more than 150,000 sandbags ready and will be closing some roads Friday. She also reminds people not to drive through high waters. Governor Haley says stay home this weekend and to know where your children are. “The rain is going to come at levels we haven’t seen before,” says the governor. No evacuations are being ordered, but the governor says if you live in a low-lying area, get out.
