50 flights delayed in Miami after suspicious bag

(ABC) — Fifty flights were delayed Monday evening at Miami International Airport after a security alarm was triggered over a suspicious bag.
A passenger‘s carry-on luggage looked suspicious, so authorities closed two security checkpoints and searched the bag.
A statement released by American Airlines Monday says, “A passenger on American Airlines flight 2393 from Miami to Barbados was taken into custody by local law enforcement at MIA. We are working closely with law enforcement while ensuring the care of our customers the best we can.”

The passenger was reportedly a dentist whose dental equipment triggered the security alarm.
“There is no safety issue or threat related to the incident,” an FBI Miami statement said. “The passenger was cooperative and faces no charges.”
