Man Shot and Killed at Columbia Gas Station
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Richland County sheriff’s deputies say one man has been killed in a shooting at a Columbia-area gas station.
Sheriff’s Lt. Curtis Wilson said in a statement that deputies were called to the station in northeast Richland County around 9 p.m. Sunday.
Wilson said the driver of a vehicle parked behind the gas station was shot and killed. Wilson says the passenger was beaten at the scene and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Wilson said two men walked up to the vehicle and a confrontation occurred.
Wilson said deputies have not determined what sparked the fight.
Their names have not been released.
