RCSD Deputies Search for Suspect Wanted in Armed Robbery

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — A man is wanted for armed robbery after he hit a store employee in the head with a gun before being chased off by the victim with a bat.

Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said deputies are looking for a black male, with a medium build who was seen entering the Raceway in the 2100 block of Broad River Road just after 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 22.

Sheriff Lott said that the suspect entered the business and pretended to purchase an item, the suspect presented a handgun and demanded money from the victim.

The suspect was caught on surveillance video wearing a black hoodie, and a blue hoodie.
