U.S. Senate Democratic Nominee Dr. Annie Andrews calls for data center moratorium
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Candidates are now in the final stretch of their campaign tours making their way across the state to speak with potential voters.
Tuesday afternoon, October 27, candidate for Senate Dr. Annie Andrews told the press she is sounding the alarm on data centers.
Standing in front of the Columbia Canal, Andrews says residents and farmers across the state deserve a say when it comes to their water, land, and communities.
Andrews adding that her opponent Senator Darline Graham has allowed super pacs in the data center industry to spend millions on Graham’s television ads.
Andrews says she is calling for a two year moratorium on data center development so that families have a say in if and when they are built.
Andrews says Graham also backed legislation that gives $70 million in tax breaks to data centers.
