Coroner: Gunshot killed man involved in motorcycle crash

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Richland County Coroner Gary Watts has released the name of the individual that died Sunday morning on Longreen Parkway near Churchland Drive.

Officials say the incident was originally reported as a motorcycle crash that occurred around 3 a.m., however it was determined that the victim had been shot.

The victim was identified as 46-year-old Adrian Silva of Columbia.

Silva was pronounced dead at the scene.

An autopsy conducted this morning shows that the victim died from complications of gunshot wounds to the upper body.

The Richland County Sheriff’s Department continues to investigate.
