COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Americans for Prosperity-South Carolina will be at a Lexington gas station, paying the gas tax burden for hard-working commuters in order to highlight how much the gas tax costs drivers in the state, and to reinforce the argument against another tax hike.

The event will take place in Lexington at the Exxon Gas Station at 711 West Main St. on Wednesday, the 20th, starting at 7:00 a.m.  AFP-South Carolina will cover the state and federal gas tax as well as the proposed ten-cent hike – giving drivers a 45-cent reduction per gallon. Signage will reflect this change.

The organization expects to cover the tax on the first 2,000 gallons of gas, and speak with commuters about their reform agenda to fix South Carolina roads.
