COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Will Muschamp gets his first chance to prove he was the right choice for the Gamecocks as Steve Spurrier’s successor. Muschamp will discuss his first USC football recruiting class at a national signing day press conference at 3 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.
After suffering its worst season since going winless in 1999, Carolina football fans are looking forward to a new crop of recruits to help USC get back being in the mix for the SEC Eastern division title. 24-7 sports composite rankings had the new class of Gamecocks at #32 in the country heading into national signing day.
Muschamp comes to Carolina with a reputation as one of the best recruiters in the country. Three of his new USC assistant coaches are also considered top 25 recruiters in the nation.
