Watch: Midlands Goes Red for Women

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– Everyone is seeing Red in the Midlands.  Friday, February 5th is National Wear Red Day, an effort to encourage Heart Health.

The annual event is in its 12th year, sponsored by the the American Heart Association.

In recognition of National Wear Red Day, the American Heart Association is encouraging Midlands area women and men to “Go Red” along with local and national news outlets, organizations and leaders.

According to statistics, Heart disease and stroke remains the No. 1 killer of women.

The City of Columbia is joining the fight, encouraging everyone to Go red.
