AARP urges SC Voters to question Candidates on Social Security
COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)–The Future of Social Security is in question according to officials at AARP and Thursday they announced they’re continued efforts to protect benefits for South Carolinians.
The group met at the South Carolina State House to release results from a new poll about Voters and Social Security.
According to AARP, in a new survey more than nine in 10 South Carolina primary voters across party lines and age groups say it is important for presidential candidates to lay out their plans to make Social Security financially sound for future generations.
AARP officials say Social Security Benefit checks could continue to be cut if nothing is done. They’re urging voters to actively question candidates about their stance on Social Security.
