WATCH: Candidates Get Personal with Undecided Voters

Republican presidential candidates got up-close-and-personal with undecided voters, at a town hall hosted by CNN

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – At CNN’s Town Hall with John Kasich, Jeb Bush and Donald Trump in Columbia Wednesday night, South Carolina voters were afforded a slow-pace, more personal interaction with the Republican candidates.

The event was held at the University of South Carolina School of Law.

Positivity, is what John Kasich has been pushing. Kasich pointed to his actions as Ohio’s governor to highlight how he’ll run the country, but also talked about how getting out of his state has showed him what we need to rebuild America.

“We need to slow down, and then celebrate our God-given destinies potentials and gifts,” Kasich said. “Yeah it’s definitely changed me because it’s slowing me down.”

Kasich made it clear, he’s in this for the long haul, no matter how he does Saturday.

Jeb Bush is coming off of a blow from South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, who endorsed Marco Rubio Wednesday, but he says his introverted nature gives him the drive to keep pushing. He said he’ll apply that when picking his nomination for the Supreme Court.

“It would be someone who did not aspire to legislate from the bench,” Bush said. “It would be someone with a deep intellectual acumen because this is a collaborative body.”

Bush also addressed the ongoing Pope-Trump feud, saying Trump, or anyone’s religious beliefs, are none of his business.

The last to take the stage, Donald Trump, said that the “fight” is more of a misunderstanding.

“I don’t think this is a fight,” he said. “I think he said something much softer than was originally reported by the media. I think he heard one side of the story-which is probably by the Mexican government.”

A Camden man asked Trump whether he would reconsider the comments he made during Saturday’s debate about George W Bush and 9-11. Trump said, he stands by what he said.
