Spray Painted Car Leads to Arrest in Boat Ramp Killing

EASLEY, S.C. (AP) — Authorities say the man who killed a woman at an Upstate boat ramp has been arrested by sheriff’s deputies after he returned to his apartment while they were examining the victim’s stolen car.

Pickens County Sheriff Rick Clark said at a news conference that 22-year-old Kasey Waldrop was charged Tuesday with murder.

Authorities say 35-year-old Farah Khan was shot in the head around 3:30 a.m. Sunday. Clark says Khan knew Waldrop, but investigators haven’t determined what led to the killing.

Detectives found Khan’s car at a Greenville apartment. The sheriff says it was spray painted to try to hide it. Clark says friends dropped Waldrop off as investigators were looking at the car and he was arrested while trying to run away.

It wasn’t known if Waldrop had a lawyer.
