Red Cross offering Specialty License Plate

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– You can now show people that you are a life saver, just by hitting the roadways.

March is Red Cross Month and now drivers can purchase a special Red Cross License Plate from the SC DMV.

According to the Red Cross, the license plate design features the Red Cross logo, which is internationally recognized as a symbol of humanitarian relief. In recognition of the more than 4,000 Red Cross volunteers in South Carolina that provide care, comfort, and hope when it is needed most, each plate issued will begin with the letters “VL” for volunteer.

The license plate is available for $25 every two years, in addition to the regular motor vehicle registration fee.
