RCSD: 13 Arrested for Crimes in the Northeast
RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) — On Monday morning, Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott announced the arrest of thirteen suspects in a string of incidents in Northeast, Richland County.
Sheriff Lott said the crimes are isolated incidents, and are all connected to drugs and robberies except for the murder of Adrian Silver, which stemmed from an ongoing altercation with his killer.
The following arrests were made in connection to a party that was held on Saturday, December 26, 2015 on the 400 block of Bridgecreek Road, and have been liked to multiple incidents in the Northeast:
- 19-year-old Yakiem Breeland was arrested and charged with attempted murder. Deputies say Breeland and the victim were involved in an altercation inside the Circle K located at 4300 Hardscrabble Road. The incident carried over to the parking lot of the business where Breeland shot the victim in the upper body. The victim was treated and released from a local hospital.
- 21-year-old Jaht Canzater was arrested on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 and charged with armed robbery and trespassing. Sheriff Leon Lott stated that Canzater attended a party on Bridgecreek Drive and robbed the victim at the location; the Sheriff stated that this incident was connected to the incident involving Breeland.
- 19-year-old Nahshon Wingate arrested on February 1, 2016 and charged with armed robbery
The following six suspects were arrested in connection to the murder on Seton Hall Drive:
On Saturday, February 27, at the Publix located at 4611 Hardscrabble Road deputies responded to a report of shots fired where a female victim was shot in the upper body, officials say.
The victim was an innocent bystander, officials say and suffered non-life threatening injuries.
On Monday, February 29, in the 400 Block of Seton Hall Drive, deputies responded to a call of shots fired and found a victim inside a vehicle with a gunshot wound to the upper body.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS.
Investigators say the motive was robbery and also drug related.
- 17-year-old Jose Reyes was taken in to custody on Tuesday, March 1 and charged with murder and attempted armed robbery.
- 17-year-old Douglas Murphy Jr. turned himself in to investigators on Tuesday, March 1 and is charged with murder and attempted armed robbery.
- 21-year-old Sequoia Kessler turned herself in to investigators on Friday, March 4 and is charged with accessory to felony after the fact.
- 16-year-old Thaddeus Lewis was taken in to custody on Tuesday, March 1 and charged as an adult with murder and attempted armed robbery.
- 16-year-old Trajan Mack was taken in to custody on Tuesday, March 1 and is charged as an adult with murder and attempted armed robbery.
- 16-year-old Sterling Kessler was taken in to custody on Wednesday, March 2 and is charged as an adult with accessory to felony before the fact and accessory to felony after the fact.
Sheriff Leon Lott said a botched armed robbery at the Spinx Gas Station located on Lee on Sunday, December 13, 2015 led to murder
- 21-year-old Ryan Alston and 19-year-old Ibn Gadson were both charged with murder, two counts of armed robbery, two counts of kidnapping, two counts of assault and battery, and two counts of possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime.
Just before 3 a.m. on Sunday, January 3 at Long Green Parkway at Churchland Drive Richland County Sheriff’s Department deputies were called to investigate a murder.
Sheriff Lott said ta motorist driving by saw an overturned motorcycle and a victim lying near by.
Silva was found dead next to his motorcycle. Richland County Coroner’s Office determined that Silva died as a result of a gunshot wound to the upper body.
The Sheriff stated that Silva was involved in an ongoing altercation with the suspect; this investigation is ongoing.
- 39-year-old Vincent May was arrested on February 4, 2016 and charged with obstructing justice in reference to the murder of Silva.

- 22-year-old Andre Heatley Jr. was arrested on Saturday, January 30, 2016 and charged with murder, armed robbery, and two counts of burglary; Heatley shot and killed his former girlfriend on Friday, January 29, 2016 just off Farrow Road.
