Trump Backtracks After Controversial Statement on Abortion

WASHINGTON (AP) _ Donald Trump is reversing himself after initially saying Wednesday that if abortion is ever banned, a woman getting one should face some form of punishment.

Trump later said in a statement that abortion providers _ not women _ should be the ones punished.

Trump’s GOP rival Ted Cruz says once again Trump “has demonstrated that he hasn’t seriously thought through the issues, and he’ll say anything just to get attention.”
