Woman’s Body Found Along I-26 in Orangeburg County
ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) – Orangeburg County sheriff’s deputies continue to investigate after a woman’s body was found along Interstate 26 on April 9.
Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said deputies were called after a motorist reported a suspicious object by the interstate about 8 a.m. near the U.S. 301 exit.
The victim has been identified as 34-year-old Cassandra Denise Pompey of Orangeburg.
Orangeburg County Coroner Sean Fogle said Pompey was pronounced dead at the scene after being struck by a motor vehicle.
Investigators have not ruled out foul play.
