SC National Guard Unit being Deployed

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– Nearly 100 Military Police from a South Carolina National Guard unit are set to deploy to Guantanamo Bay.
A guard official announced Tuesday the 131st Military Police Company in Beaufort has been assigned the job.

It will be the first time a South Carolina National Guard unit has been sent to Joint Task Force Guantanamo, which is in charge of the U.S. military prison holding about 80 suspected terrorists.
