ABOUT LAST NIGHT: Due to a technical issue with the left-field light tower at Fluor Field, Saturday night’s game between Columbia and Greenville was suspended after four and a half innings. The game resumes Sunday at 2 p.m. with the originally scheduled 4:05 p.m. game to follow. The second game on Sunday will be shortened to seven innings.

NOW WHAT: The game resumes at the start of the bottom of the fifth inning with the score in favor of Columbia, 5-0. Fireflies starter Tyler Badamo was cruising on Saturday. The righty tossed four scoreless innings and struck out four.

GRAND PRIZE: The first grand slam in franchise history was smashed on Saturday. Jeff Diehl belted a pitch over the left-field wall in the top of the fifth. It was Diehl’s team-leading fourth of the season and third at Fluor Field. He hit his first two in consecutive games on April 22 and 23.

CHARGING OUT OF THE GATES: Columbia scored first on Saturday for the 21st time this season in just 29 games. The Fireflies are getting on the scoreboard before their opponents almost 73% of the time.

FAMILIAR FOE: The Fireflies took three out of four games from Greenville the last time they met from April 21-24.
