CPD Responds to Shooting Near Hospital

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Columbia police officers are responding to a shooting at a hotel near Palmetto Health Richland Hospital.

Officials say it happened around 5:30 Wednesday morning at the Budget Inn on Sunset Drive.   They say a male victim was found shot multiple times.   He was taken to the hospital and is expected to be okay.

Officers are on the scene gathering details.   Authorities say they believe this is an isolated incident.
